Unlawful Contact with a Minor or online solicitation of a minor charges can also lead to arrest and serious penalties, even if no sexual assault crime was committed.

SORNA / National Sex Offender Registry

If you were charged with a sex crime in Pennsylvania, a conviction can mean years in prison, decades on probation, and a lifetime of having to register as a sex offender after your release from prison.

The national sex offender registry is known as SORNA or Megan’s Law. If you are required to register on SORNA, anyone who does a basic background check or conducts a basic Internet search will easily see your criminal history.

SORNA can make it very difficult for you to find housing, a job, or obtain a loan.

Failure to register as required by law can mean up to ten years in prison.

  • Consent;
  • Duress;
  • Insanity;
  • Intoxication;
  • Alibi, and;
  • Impossibility.

They can thoroughly investigate all your charges, police reports and evidence to find mistakes by the police that could result in a case dismissal.

In addition, if false claims apply, a defense attorney can file a countersuit or defamation law suit if the false claim harmed the defendant.

If your charges cannot be dropped, an experienced sex crime lawyer will help you build a strong case that defends your character and helps you prepare for hearings and/or a trial.

An experienced sex crime lawyer by your side could make a pivotal difference in the outcome of your case, and therefore, your future.
